*******************************************************************************

How to start
  • open your Web Site in the IPC domain poolcover-ipc.com (for example www.de.poolcover-ipc.com)
  • put in your login (password) in CMS mode window

CMS window opens. There is an upper banner there and 3 columns:
  1. left Menu
  2. middle column
  3. right column

You can’t edit items in Menu. If you need to change Menu items e-mail me what you want to get there

Middle column is editable except moving pictures of Flash applet in the left upper corner of the column (maximal size (width) of a column is 592 pixels

Right column is fully editable (maximal size (width) of pictures is 200pixels)

*************************************************************************
How to edit content (in middle and right columns)

1. Editing existing content
- A content is in separate fields marked with frames. To edit a field click on “edit” button below a field. Now use CMS inner text editor to remove, change or add your texts, table, photos(JPG, GIF), make hyperlinks, etc. Editor allows you to select type, size, colours of fonts, put in tables, etc.
- When you finish editing always click “save” button! Other way a new content of the field will vanish
2. adding new field

A. in middle column

Click “add new field” located at the bottom of columns.
There is a choice of 3 different new fields:

1/ free mode
2/ news mode
3/ swf
free mode allows you putting single new field which is possible to edit as mentioned above (see item 1/)
news mode opens double field – an upper one is visible directly in a page you are working on, and the lower one follow a link placed in upper window marked “… more” . A link creates a new subpage. Editing a lower field means placing content in a new created subpage.
swf – let you put in a the IPC animation (Flash applets) from a choice of items visible in a dropdown menu

Attention:
Coping from MS WORD editor:
  1) Use "Paste as plain text" or better "Paste from Word" icons from tool bar of the CMS editor to paste texts
  2) you can also copy text to TXT format editor first – for example MS WordPad. Then text in TXT format can be copied directly to the CMS edited field

B.  in right column
There is a choice of 3 new fields you can add to a column

1. Simple text field
2. Swf (as above)
3. Pictures from a image browser of the IPC server

Attention:
Do not put in the right column swf files wider than 200 pixels!

3/ removing field

To remove any field (text, pictures, swf animation) click “delete” button at the bottom of a proper field

4/ Adding – Removing PDF files

button “add pdf” and “remove pdf” allows you to put in a link to pdf files in a field. PDF file must be sent to the IPC server first (see chapter How to upload our own files ...). PDF files can be put in by editing existing content in a field.

5/ Adding - removing link

It is possible to create a link from the whole field: just press a button “make a link” below chosen field. A text in the field goes underlined and makes a link to a new subpage which must be filled with a new content.
Link can be made inside CMS editor by clicking an icon Insert/Edit link

Existing link is removable by button “remove link

How to upload files, like logotypes and pictures to the IPC web server?

Use CMS to put any graphics or photos on your website
Use CMS to let your clients or partner to download accessible files

Attention:
1. Please remember: a tool File upload acts for uploading a single file only. Maximum size of uploading files is less than 1,6 Mb. If you want to upload a group of file or single files over ~2Mb each you must use the IPC Java tool (no file size limit).
2. For using in a content of the web page small size (Kb) files should be uploaded only
3. Use file names without spaces (for example: abc_termatec_2006)

  • when you are in CMS mode go to Menu bar and choose  Folder management from CMS TOOLS first. Create a subfolder when you want to upload your files (for example subfolder Photo Termatec in Termatec folder is created)
  • go to File upload on CMS TOOLS. In a field File Upload choose Destination directory where you want to upload your files (for example already created Photo Termatec)
  • Using Browser find and point a file on your computer (Upload a new file).
  • use Send File to transfer a file to IPC web server (for example uploaded 10 .jpg files to Photo Termatec subfolder)
  • There is also a Browser of uploaded files below operation windows. JPG and GIF files are visible in miniatures

Advice:
Upload files for using in a page content to Site_content– Members_files
Upload files for your clients/partners downloading to Members – your_company_folder

How to make our files uploaded to IPC web server accessible for our clients or partners?

  • go to Users accounts on CMS TOOLS. Users accountswindow will be open
  • put the name of client or partner = account name (User password (account name) in the table) and click "add new client/add new partner" button. For example I created Termatec2005 account
  • You must establish privileges for created accounts: click "privileges" button from Options (in the table). New windows will open (Clients privileges/ Partners privileges)
  • Click "add new file" button to choose single file from your folder on the IPC web server which must be accessible to your clients or partners. Repeat this action if you want to make more files accessible to created account (I made 10  .jpg files accessible to Termatec2005 account)
  • now you can send an e-mail to your client/partner with the account name/password. All what he must to do is:
- open your web site
- put the account name/password in "Client/Partner area login" on Menu bar and click "enter". A list of files to download will be opened
- Press "click" by a file chose to download

ad1.
The IPC JAVA field consists of 2 Panels:
  • left panel – view of a disk of your computer
  • right panel – directories and files of “IPC ftp server”

Navigation in IPC Java “Remote files field” (FTP Client):
> to view subfolders click a folder 2 times
> to move up click “up to parent directory” at a top of a window 2 times. Please wait: it takes time !!!
 ad2.
The second lower field (IPC Browser) allows viewing files uploaded to IPC Java. It is also an interface to download single file from IPC Java to your computer. Select a proper folder to view files ( JPG and GIF only !).
